It's not so much that PS3 made a "comeback" as it was Wii simply hitting the wall druing around early 2011 thanks to lack of games, while PS3's sales stayed relatively steady. So I guess by comparison, it looks as if Sony "made a comeback" when really they were just following a traditional sales curve the whole time, while Nintendo skyrocketed in the beginning, only to have the bottom fall out from under it at the end. The sheer insanity and the amount it skyrocketed in the beginning though will still be enough to stay ahead of the PS3 in the end, though it's going to end up far closer than I ever thought it would.
