Well, since that other thread got locked, my main point was the PS3 has made a comeback. Also, the person who said the gap was continually closing since the PS3's launch in EU was in incorrect. In 2008, when MS dropped the entry price to $199 for the holiday season, the gap grew by 710K, to 7.4M, for the year. This was when many claimed, including some on this site, that the gap would either remain the same or continue to grow. With the launch of the Slim, that didn't happen. The PS3 has been outselling it every year since.

It's such a strong comeback, in fact, that even the HUGE success MS had with Kinect couldn't combat the PS3's sales. Aligned launches never paint the whole picture, and completely ignores the poor image the PS3 had at the start of this gen.
