PS3 never made a comeback! PS3 has consistently outsold X360

Well... no, it's still pretty disastrous imo, but that's not the point of this thread. The point here is that it's always done reasonably well all the time, so when people are talking about the PS3 comeback they're referring to something that didn't take place.

Point is it went from selling disastrous numbers compared to Wii and PS2, to now decent enough numbers to propel it to only 25m behind Wii now and the gap will soon be smaller. The gap was at one point of course 0ish units and went really quickly to at least a 32m gap and now it is closing due to the PS3 still being supported well. Nintendo abandoing Wii is irrelevant. 360 as a whole is irrelevant, as it lost its lead and as you said always had signs that it would lose to PS3.

But that's the thing though; it never did disastrous numbers. In that case, the X360 did just as much of a comeback as PS3 did. And if we aren't going to compare it with Wii or X360 it did even worse! Then we have to compare it with its predecessor, and then it's a failure all around.
