Games that unexpectedly blew you away !!! :-D

There are plenty of games the exceed my expectations (more that let them down) but since the internet you always already know a lot of what to expect. Half-Life, Grim Fandango, Ico, Syberia, SotC, Okami, Dragon Age: Origins, R&C Crack in time, Dark souls, Journey all far exceeded expectations but the expectations were there already.

So I would have to back to before the internet or game magazines, all the way to Civilization, Sim City, Dune, Dune 2.

There is one this gen I didn't like based on the demo and reviews pretty much wrote it off. I still took a chance on it for $10 in the bargain bin. Majin and the Forsaken kingdom turned out to be just that 3D adventure game that I so sorely miss from the last generation. Blown away by the gameplay.
