A lot of early games frigthtened me back then and I still feel uncomfortable while playing them from time to time.


the first few worlds in Mario 64 are fine but then I keep hearing the evil Bowser laughter, the ghosts start to appear, the levels are getting more and more weird and lonely (especially the water levels) and idk it's not comparable to any other Mario game IMHO.


checked your profile and your 22, just a year older than me, im actually surprised i always assumed you were older. 

yes some levels do seem kind of odd. the water levels do feel lifeless, i dont know if that is intentional or not. its weird i also had some fear in some levels (in the ghost level, the eating piano used to freak me out) though it was probably just because i was a kid. bowsers laughter didnt freak me out though. i havent played the galaxy games (yet) or mario sunshine so i cant really compare it with any other 3D mario game.
