Neat. I always like this stuff, good find
.
About the online argument:
XBox is basically credited for making online multiplayer accessible on consoles. An integrated experience. Most people know XBox wasn't the first to implement online elements.
Dreamcast was the first to feature full online features. Before that the N64 had an add-on which allowed you to play certain games online and the SNES had an add-on on which you could download games; so, digital distribution. Both only in Japan though. SEGA had a similar service for the Mega Drive in Japan and later came up with SegaNet for the Saturn and the Dreamcast. The Famicom Modem has been mentioned and hell, even the Atari 2600 and the Intellivision both had an add-on which allowed you to download DLC through a phone-line.
Stuff's just evolved over the generations that's all, and the XBox was the first to really nail it.
