Why ?
If that was true what is the point of spending Billions of Dollars designing 8gb consoles and going to extraordinary lengths to somehow make 8gb Ram possible
It makes no sense to argue Sony and MS design consoles that have parts they can't use to their full potential. If Sony really intends to use just 2 GB for the GPU why do they make sure that the GPU gets GDDR5. If they use 2gb they could have used DDR3 instead of GDDR5 and MS wouldn't need ESRAM and Move engines. Sony payed alot of cash to make sure that the GPU gets enough bandwith so the PS4s GPU can access 6GB per frame in a 30 fps Game and 3 GB per frame in a 60fps game.
If the GPU can not handle more than 2GB why would they do that ?
