I have to disagree with you here Jay. If they decide to go and block used games there will be no AAA game production sustenance. In Japan AAA games have no effect. In Europe laws protect consumer in this case better than the US. In the US with the state of economy 90% of people won't buy $60 games every month to satisfy their gaming thirst. I will start to play Uno and spades.

Disagree. With day 1 and week 1 sales of many games including Call of Duy, Halo, Gran Turismo, Metal Gear Solid etc we see explosions of sales. These are people willing to buy games day 1 at full price. Then as weeks go buy and word of mouth goes around 100's of thousands of people buy it. Then through price drops and time they sell more and more. For the people not willing to buy at full price there is price drops. This is why you see games selling millions of copies.

And how many of those day 1 sales are funded by trade ins? Out of the last 8 day 1 games I've bought, I've only kept 3. The rest traded in for $30 - $35 credit towards the next purchase. Sell $60 titles digitally for $30 on day 1 and I'll bite. Still I would prefer the trade in route, so when In find that gem I want to hold on to I can put it on the shelf with the other gems.
