Fact is that it's just another tragic event in the world, and there's an abundance of suffering in it already. It's not healthy to become emotionally invested in every disaster and misery that is bombarded on us through the news, nobody can do that and that's why we have internal filters that help to decide on to what degree to react on a specific event.

Yep - no doubt about it, but that doesn't make it appropriate to jest. Jest to yourself and friends and family, not in an open forum where some might take offense. It's just proper etiquette.

Please give me a break... What is this etiquette on VGC that you speak of? A lot of users on VGC try to offend people with different taste all the time. I'm sorry you guys can't handle dark humor. Dark humor is supposed to be offensive.

Offending fans of video game consoles is the same as offending people who are affected by improvised explosive devices? Lol wow, clearly you are in some delusional world of your own.

btw, I take no offense, just explaining why some would/do.

It is pretty obvious that I am not a sane person.  However, this is all of sudden heart breaking because it happened on US soil when people have been bombed like crazy in Iraq and other places.  Sure I feel sad for the Americans that were killed and injured.  However, I don't really see how it is any different than an explosion killing people in other areas of the world just because it happened on US soil now people are scared / want to mourn people.   When most Americans hear about bombings going on in Iraq and other places they merely just shrug it off.  Am I upset that it happened?  Yes.  People get over tragic events.  Do you still think about the Conn school shooting, Amish school shooting, Columbine, the Holocaust, the Inquisition, etc...  Sure it might still be in your mind and ever once in awhile brought up but it doesn't bother you that much as time passes.
