And why you forgot about The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword - major Zelda release in 5 years. Only ~3.5m sold. Even Fable 3 do better (is it bigger franchise now?).

 

Also, lold about NES and N64 - so relevant today.

3.5 is still amazing and very few exclusives can do that either.  I haven't been comparing games, that would be you.  However I will for a moment.  top 5 exclusives of todays time would probably look something like this.

 Mainline Mario,  Pokemon, Halo, Gran Turismo, and  Super smash Bros
