Would PS3 use Blu-Ray if format war didnt happen?

I don't know the answer, but HD-DVD is the superior format so maybe if it came standard in Xbox 360 it would have given it the push it needed.

It might have. It might have also nuked the competition and be the standard today. MS doesn't care one way or the other. Sony needed Blu-Ray to win. If it hadn't the PS3 would have been a total disaster.

Ya i never really thought about how much sony was risking, if hd-dvd won then theres a very good chance ps3 would have completely failed, which is crazy since PS1 and 2 dominated
