It's interesting that he always and ever mentions Nintendo (the company that sold more than 280 million devices in 7th/8th gen) when he talks about what he thinks are Japanese (or the console industry's as a whole) failures, but he never mentions Sony, the company which sold more than a 100 million devices less and hundred of millions 1st/2nd party software copies less than Nintendo. The company which lost billions in one gen. Two of the recent mid-tier Nintendo IP releases (Animal Crossing, Luigi's Mansion) will each easily outsell any Sony IP (except Gran Turismo), but sure, it's always Nintendo who make mistakes and works as his role model for failures even though they are the most succemssful company in this industry (besides Blizzard which are not independent anymore).
In Pachter's world Nintendo can't do right and others can't do wrong.
