http://ps4daily.com/2013/04/playstation-4-developers-7-gb-ram/ Well word was that 7GB was available to developers. Sony was making only 4GB available to developers before and doubled the RAM.
Ok, then take this thread as a general question of how much a RAM differential does there need to be between the Wii U and Microsoft and Sony's offerings for it to start to matter. |
I'm a little confused as to the question. I think you're asking it under the assumption that RAM sells consoles?
The PS3 had somewhere along the lines of 6x the ram the Wii did, and it nearly killed the PS3 whilst the Wii was breaking records. The PS3 having even more RAM would have hurt the PS3 more, it would not have hurt the Wii.
To clarify, a PS4 with 16 gb of RAM (and other specs scaled similarly) would sell worse than a PS4 with 8 gb of ram. A PS4 with 4 gb of ram, and other specs scaled down similarly) would sell better than either of them.
