Some of the most repeated criticisms from users regarding the PS3 have been the lack of cross-game chat and poor ports, especially regarding open-world games like Fallout 3 (and New Vegas), TES V: Skyrim, and so on, where memory was cited as the primary issue. Sony including 8GB of RAM seems like they wanted to address these issues. Of course I'm interested in seeing the graphical capabilities of the console, but the bigger reason why I'm glad Sony went with their RAM decision is because of several upcoming open-world games that will undoubtedly utilize the memory, as well as the social aspects (such as cross-game chat), as well as other social features like uploading videos.
