Why August 6 and not July when July has no games?

Why does every developer have an aversion to July?
Seriously, can anyone answer that?

Summer is a low time for game sales, apparently.

There's no games....
How would they know?

Everyone knows there's hardly any game releases from June-Aug, been like that for years.

Same with films, there's certain times of year when blockbusters are released and when they aren't, it's to do with people having more wholesome things to do and general habbits of people, and avoiding the times.

Much like you don't sell ice cream in the north pole :p
