Probably because they did not realize it was a real photo. How can you tell?

Well, a lot of things, but the ground and the rocks mostly. There's no way anything that realistic-looking could not be real.

Also, the reflections on the UFO and the expression on Bigfoot's face. No way anybody could fake that.
