Wow, so were supposed to give the GOW acronym to a game that at this point has only sold like 60,000 more copies. Big woop. If it was over a million copies, then it could be a little justified, but it still couldn't because really God of War came out before Gears so shouldn't it be the given the acronym.

In any case I'm still calling God of War=GoW. And Gears or War=Gears. :-p

dont get sucked into the nonesense, i remember a thread when a first joined, it was about the pre order chartz. the OP ended up changing the thread tittle to "silly god of war vs gears of war cock fight, oh and some pre order stuff" im willing to bet it was the longest pre-order thread ever.

here is the link, even if you make sense you will still be sucked in into the stupid argument so trust me, just ignore it

Your absolutely right. Gears took it, so lets all just move on :)

Gears doesn't deserve it.

I think it does. But regardless it sold more. With victory comes the spoils. It is done.

Many fans believe God of War will have longer legs. It may take it back, but itll be down the road.

What matters is that the God of War franchise has sold more than Gears of War franchise. So you see, that's victory for God of War right there :P.

Good point. That has been Sales' argument over the years about Forza and GT5. "But forza has sold more overall, so it's the bigger franchise". Knowing him, he'll realize his mistake and rationally admit that God of War is the bigger frachise. Yup, any minute now.

Just curious though. I saw several posts of 360 fans arguing that Gears fans refuse to buy this game, as it is a bad game and a prequel. Who's buying this game anyway then? Casuals?

I think it consists of the hardcore Gears fanbase and those fans which relied on IGN's fanboy review. IGN is very popular, and they didn't review GOWA very well, so that would definitely have some impact on the sales of the game. You know, one of my friends has also refused to buy the game based on IGN's review.
