if it werent for the huge backlash from people on twitter about what he said he probably wouldnt have lost his job. is what he did stupid? yes, because he should have known how people can react to the slightest thing. does he deserve to be fired over this (IMO)? no

Oh c'mon banana! He really did deserve what was coming to him. Even if there wasn't a huge backlash I still think he should have been fired. That's unacceptable behavior in so many ways... If you were running MS, would you have wanted to have a senior employee acting that way? I sure as hell wouldn't want someone like him on my company.

i would have warned him or suspended him for a week or so, but actually firing him? thats big. and if he has a family thats even bigger.
|
I don't think whether or not a man has a family or not should matter; if he's doing a really poor job it's time to fire his ass. I mean, it's always sad for the entire family when mom or dad gets fired - it's tough - but a company can't take that into consideration. That way, no one would ever get fired.

of course they should take that into consideration, when did we humans stoped feeling for each other? also if he was dooring a poor job, then yes fire him. but if he made one mistake while doing a good job? then no, dont fire him because one mistake. we dont know the reasons for him being fired, but if it was only for this incident then i say its way to harsh, if this is the straw that broke the camels back i would understand him being fired
