but I wonder how many people would buy a Durango and a BC box...

you should think the other way around.. I think the new360 will be placed as THE media box out there even outselling durango.. but when people want more they'll get a durango with it cause it works so nicely with the new360.. I even wouldn't be surprised if the new360 would get yearly revisions and a new game part every 6 to 8 years..

So let me get this straight:

If you are an XBox360 owner, you probably get royally srewed by Microsoft, once again? It is very suspicious that all that tv stuff suddenly seems to go into a dedicated "Small Xbox" (and it can be expected this miracle box comes with dedicated entertainment software) . So can the old XBox360 also work as "Small Box"? Or do XBox360 users HAVE to get the "Small Box" for the entertainment pack?

How do you get royally screwed by Microsoft?

I have an Xbox 360 Slim.  As such, I have no intention of purchasing a new Xbox 360, with or without a disc drive, anytime soon.

The 'old Xbox 360' has exactly the same functionality as the rumoured new one (assuming it meets rumoured specifications) with the exception of the ability to link with Durango.  But as it has a disc drive already, that is not a required piece of functionality.
