Gears on consoles has outsold god of war on consoles.  As a complete franchise across 10 or 13 games God of war comes out on top against 4 gears games.  God of war has obviously made a lot of money, nobody is argueing with you on that, or else they wouldnt make them.

I am a huge gears fanatic and I havent bought Gears:J because they changed too much for the worst.  Soon as i saw EPIC wasnt making it my excitement quickly faded.  It is kind of like Uncharted Golden Abyss.  Sure it is uncharted but it leaves behind things that made it good in the first place like Naughty Dog.

I don't think that every change was for the worst. Indeed, there are some horrible things (Most of the modes don't have DBNO) or the fact that you hold two weapons now and switch pressing Y (So only Lancer and Gnasher, or Lancer and Snub Pistol). I liked the fact that grenades are thrown within a button, but that means no more proximity mines now.

However, you have not one, but two campaings. The second one being designed by Epic (In fact, the gameplay is a reminiscent of Gow3 and not Gow:J), you have Overrun (fuck, they ditched Horde ;_;) and you have co-op modes to keep you entertained for weeks. I don't see the problem, I just don't want to pay 60 for it. Perhaps 40 or 35 is more fair.

Series went downhill since gears 3. Even though gears 3 is supposedly made by Epic I can see people can fly's influence all over that game. That game abandoned the atmosphere of previous gears in favor of arcadey gameplay and now they've taken it even further with gears J. I shudder to think what gears 4 will be like.

I also don't get why you like grenades being thrown with one button. It was never that difficult in the previous gears to switch to nades and quick toss with a tap of RT. Mapping nades to the bumper just encourages spamming. That was not a change for the better, it feels like they are trying to mimick uncharted which is just sad. I can't think of any change they made that improved the game.
