The red, white and yellow (AV cords/ composite which almost everyone else calls them) are still on new TVs. You must have confused component with composite. Every new TV has at least one composite input still. If not then you probably bought a ghetto TV at Walmart.
You should have given them a GC with Super Monkey Ball 2, Super Smash Bros Melee, Luigi's Mansion, Rogue Squadron 2, Mario Kart Double Dash, Time Splitters 2, Paper Mario TTYD, F Zero GX, Animal Crossing, Burnout 2, Phantasy Star Online (has local multiplayer), etc...
