This is exactly what I think. They are probably just trololololing in their offices. From what I've read, even if it was implemented right now they could just do a firmware update to get rid of it.
I think they're just using this as a publicity stunt for the 720 to get people to watch it when it is revealed. You know how they say that any publicity is good publicity. Once they do release info and say there is no online, the 720 will be heralded as kind of king console for not having that feature even though their competitor didn't have it from the very beginning.
M$ is very sly. They wouldn't be making this mistake. If anything this is probably all planned and Adam Orph may have done what he did on purpose to boost hype and take the talk away from the PS4 and shift it more to 720 until it is revealed.
