The games are just too similar to release that often. Why not just release one at the start of the generation and then constantly support with new stuff over the years. Games like Burnout Paradise gained so much from DLC. A GT could too.

That likely isn't as financially worth while as more frequent releases.

Bear in mind EA stopped putting out Burnout games and now has that developer making Need For Speed games.

I don't see why not, Polyphony spend too much time developing them anyway, GT 5 was 5 years after GT 4 and GT 5 is nearly 3 years old already and we've heard not even much of a leak on a new one yet. I don't think they could release them more often unless they hired far more people. Hopefully a PS4 GT will come sooner rather than later. Also, i think every 2 years is too often as Gran Turismo is a game that is meant to have many hours put into it over a number of years, especially when they put 1000 cars in it!

As, for Burnout i know they haven't released one since Paradise. It's a shame really that was an amazing game but Need for Speed has improved alot since Criterion started making them.

They haven't released Prologue for GT6. So imagine how long it'll be before the actual game is released.

A release every two years might be too often for Gran Turismo. Definitely more than the fanbase a accustomed too. But the frequent releases of Forza seems to be working out well and those are deep games you can put many hours in as well. Although, I'm sure the average user is not putting a ton of hour in either GT or Forza.

The thing with forza is that it's hardly changed since Forza 2 (the first one on Xbox 360). Only graphics got better and maybe the newer models of cars were added. I think the new one made it open world but otherwise it's the same game, it don't need to be out so often.
