FF fans haven't been happy with the series since FFX (2001). People weren't happy with 11, 12, or 14. But 13 is the only game with a scapegoat for Sony fans.

the majority of Sony fans i've seen didn't like FF13 either. FF13 was the 1 that seemed to look more "normal" but then all this sh!t happened and square started releasing all this "cut content" and fitting on specifically "3 dvd9"discs came out and what not

I wasn't saying Sony fans like FF13. I'm saying it was another game in series that disappointed.

I believe these quotes more than the crap you're presuming.

"There wasn't all this other stuff that we wanted to include but had to cut. It was more of a selective process you'd find in any development process, where there were a lot of ideas but then we chose the best of those to include in the final game. The things that were cut either didn't make sense in the storyline, would slow down the pace of the game or were otherwise unnecessary."

"There is no plan for these things that were cut -- because they weren't essential to the game -- to be revived as downloadable content," laughing as he remarked that he wouldn't want to add back in the stuff he didn't think should be in there in the first place.

Shit gets cut when they make video games, movies, and other forms of media. Frankly, I can think of some games that could have been a lot better if they cut out some content.

@ the link

lol that was a good attempt at Kitase trying to save face

but going by this we can only go by 2 things:

1.) he was either seriously trying to save face because of the backlash that came after releasing certain bits of info about this games development. Like are we supposed to be stupid or someshit? 1st they claim that the game is exclusive and was being built exclusively on the White engine for ps3. After the ps3 version of another specific jrpg at square supposedly ran into issues and that it was because of "reasons they couldn't explain", the game wasn't able to be released at the same time as the 360 version and came out EXACTLY a year later(I think it was Star Ocean but i cant remember) and then they go on to say that FF13 ps3 isnt having any problems since it is on the white engine. They announce FF13 on 360 and they pretty much confirm that it will be the exact same game and will look just as good as the ps3 version(they said that they did it because they wanted to broaden their audience). They also come out and claim that the 360 version would NOT hamper the ps3 version of FF13 in any way. Then they start stressing about fitting this game on specifically 3 360 discs and that 3 is what they were "aiming" for(I wonder why). Then they later come out and reveal that not only did they trim content from this game(obviously the ps3 version) but THEY CUT SO MUCH CONTENT FROM THIS GAME THAT THE CUT CONTENT COULD BE ITS OWN GAME.

and then they want to come up with this lame excuse like we are supposed to be dumb and just believe and go for the okie-doke all of a sudden? ..FUCK OUTTA HERE!!

or

2.) @Oniyide and @Scottie are pretty much right. This game was just not up to standard from jump. They had blu ray with all this space but STILL somehow found a way to take a step backwards.

In your head what you're saying probably seems logical. But the reality is its just presumptions.

FFXIII isn't the first game to take a step back with a ton of space at their disposal. MGS4 did the same thing and that's an exclusive.

MGS4 never had a games worth of content cut from it so i dont know where you have been trying to go with that 1 ;)

Hideo knew from the start what he was working with in the ps3

it's not like he created MGS4 with bluray in mind only to then have to chop it up to fit 3 dvd9 discs mid way through
