The biggest recent trend is probably people using Intel integrated graphics more. With Haswell and Kaveri we may well see discrete graphics cards become altogether niche.

February this year? This is really new lol.

I think the trend in the next years is the integrated graphcis (APU) dominate the market... Intel and AMD have the tech (AMD better in GPU terms and Intel better in CPU terms) and nVidia is trying to go into some ARM + GPU integrated thing.

The mobile/pad will grow to stop the PC market grow too... I think more and more things like Kaveri will happen.

The strong and super entusiastics GPUs will a be a thing of the past... more and more the PC world is moving to high power efficiency than pure performance hardwares

 

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think IGPs have ALWAYS dominated the PC market... that is if we consider the whole PC market, not only the gamer and enthusiast part of it.
