No, if it were just WiiU released and PS4720 not released that would be 33.3%, which is less than 50%. But it's WiiU, 3DS and Vita, which is more than 50%.
The consensus seems to be that, for example, the 6th generation started with the release of the xbox in Nov 2001 - 3 years after the release of the first 6th gen console. That just seems weird to me.
