why do a lot people dismiss online gaming so much?

I do play online sometimes.  It's not like we've never tried it.  I don't have a problem with online, I just don't go as crazy for it as some gamers do.  One of my biggest pet peeves about some new gamers is that they'll release a tiny single player portion that almost feels like an afterthought to the online component.

and i hate that as well, honestly i dont buy games that i feel are like that, i care about online a lot, but i also love me some single player games, and i wont spend my money on an boring afterthought
