why do a lot people dismiss online gaming so much?

A good multiplayer depends on whether the game hits off or not. If there isn't a large good community to play with online and for a "long" time, then the online sucks. A reviewer can't know this a week before release.

then there is a huge error when it comes to reviewers and how they review the game, since to they judge online and comment on it, even though the verdict is mostly dependent on the single player. if they really cant judge an online game without playing it for a long time then they should just review the single player and rate the singleplayer alone. and not judge the online player and rate it based more on their experience with the singplayer aspect

thats exactly what they do, unless its something like COD where its focused on MP. For instance Uncharted 2 was getting rave reviews but hardly anyone talked about the MP, despite it being well done. For games that are SP focused reviewers dont bother.
