They need to finish their review before the game releases, so the best they can get is a server where they play against other reviewers/people of the development team. Therefore they'll focus on the singleplayer portion in their review, because that's the part they could test thoroughly. |
Try a different game, and preferable on a console with an ethernet port. Wi-Fi is unreliable for online gaming.
