It's not exists,it's in development,but they never announce it,so it's not exists,to the public,and these medias,is reporting rumors to the public,even they confirm or deny it,that means they accidentlly announced the console,and let's say if they deny the "required online" rumor,then people will disscus something else like "why they didn't also deny block used games rumor?that must be true!",that's why they won't say anything about 720 since

that's just nonsense. This is PR we talking about. They can debunk these rumors if they want to without even mentioning a new console. They can just say we will continue to be consumer friendly and not alienate any gamer going forward or something similar.

The only reason I can think of, IF this is not true, is that they think debunking the rumors at the reveal stage would create more hype. I personally don't think that's a good idea to wait that long.

These medias are not talking about "every Microsoft software will require online or "360 will require online",it's "720 will require online",if they reply anything about these rumors,that means 720 just suddenly announced.

They won't even say anything even there is a postive rumor.

But like I said if they say they something similar to what I suggested they won't have to mention the console at all. I mean they don't 'have' to respond to a certain article/media outlet. Just a general statement

and who are we kidding? MS isn't as stupid to think people don't know there's a new xbox coming soon. They have teased it themselves in recent times. There is no big hurdle or negative impact of them making comments about their future plans/consoles. But like I said they might be thinking it will be a good idea to wait for the reveal to do this but I don't think it's a good idea.

Why they need a general statement when 360 already don't need online to play games?if they do it,it must about 720,people in gaming fourm won't suddenly think "oh just a normal statement".

Actually,most people in real world don't know 720 is coming yet,only some gamer following gaming forums knows right now,they teased but don't mean they announced,plus their "tease" never give any even just a little details.
