do tundra gathering missions and mine there, you'll get light crystals that way.

Aye, i know. It's just an aggravatingly low drop rate (slightly better on the blue deposits, but there aren't many of them)

Do the cold stones gathering quest, it seems to notably up your chances of recieving lightcrystals, its the easiest way we have found to get them. Far better than just trying to get them in general other quests, plus you can get them as quest rewards too this way, rather than just getting the ones you mine in the field.
