Well. I wouldn't worry too much about the article. It has some wrong facts in it.
For instance how it states that most windows machines are 32bit, is actually false.
Look at the Steam statistics, 55% of gamers that use Steam are 64bit, hence the majority are 64bit gamers.
95% of machines actually have a 64bit capable system, so a new OS would solve that problem.
If you were to take into account Netbooks, HTPC's, Office machines, then sure the statement holds true, but then again, you aren't exactly going to run a game like Crysis 3 on those. :P
