I guess I can see a bit of logic in there.  It may have been force of habit from recent games:  when I'm catching up on 400 posts there's a non-trivial lag between catching up and posting on what I've caught up on.  As for the fact that I talked about my own lateness in the first place, well, I just don't think that says anything about me beyond what the post itself literally indicates.  

I can understand your point about catching up. I still don't like the apology though.
