In an interview with Kotaku, Wedbush Securities analyst Michael Pachter revealed insightful information about his techniques, and revised thoughts on Nintendo's financial situation.
"At this point, the Wii U is clearly a failure. The 3DS is selling somewhat well in Japan, and I think that's the only country Nintendo can have any success in, because it's still not selling well in America. Things aren't going to turn around for either console any time soon."
When pressed further, Pachter spelled imminent doom for Nintendo. But how did he achieve such impressive forsight?
"I'm not very familiar with video games, or with the video game industry," he admitted, "but I learned some fantastic analysis techniques that make up for my lack of knowledge of certain industries. The one I rely on most, I learned from my mentor, Mr. Sowerby, while I was studying in Pennsylvania."
Intrigued, the journalist was compelled to inquire further about this mysterious man.
"Oh, he's not a man," Pachter clarified. "He's a rodent. Phil is a genius analyst, though. Taught me everything I know about predicting the future of the video game industry. See, the other day I crawled out from under my rock, and I saw my shadow. That means there won't be a positive outlook for Nintendo for at least the next six years."
And after those six years have passed?
"In 2019, I'll come back out from under my rock, and I'll celebrate the accuracy of my prediction. Then, if I see my shadow again, I'll predict an additional six years of Nintendo doom."
