Is it just me or does remote play between the Vita and PS4 seem like its less than 20 frames per second? In the Knack demo they showed the game looked like it was skipping frames just to keep up with the game. Check out the youtube clip and tell me what you think.

It's a nice proof of concept but it's nothing that will become widespread.

What are you talking about? It's hardware level, it will remote play all ps4 games that don't use motion controls or body tracking. Its already been stated by sony, this is a full fledged feature.

The combination of someone owning both a Vita and a PS4 will not become widspread. So it's nice to have concept that is proven but if it doesn't become widespread it will have little impact on the console biz.

The discussion isn't about the impact on the console biz, even if 100 percent of ps4 owners had a vita, it wouldn't impact the console biz. So what's your point? Besides it's fairlly likely the people who own a vita, will or at some time own a ps4. Stop trying to down play it.

I'm all about niche products. I'm into high end PC gaming..  I understand thier value as a gamer. But this is the vgchartz forum. It's about sales and economics here. I'm just saying it isn't going to be an impactfull concept on the marketplace.  Even those who have both the Vita and the PS4 will rarely use it once the new experience factor wears off. The vita has shoddy analog sticks and lacks a second row of shoulder buttons. The experience doesn't compare to the wiiu experience where you can play games on the gamepad with 4 shoulder buttons and properly sized analog sticks. The Vita PS4 remote play experience is for teenagers and kids who don't control their own television set and would want to continue playing their game even when dad is using the tv. The problem is that the PS4 and Vita are high end products which aren't targeting the family unit. The wiiu is made by Nintendo and will become widespread amoung families and actually have an impact. This takes nothing away from the PS4 which i fully expect to become an esstential core gaming product.

While the forums might be centered around sales. This thread is not. While were on the topic Looking at the Wii U sales right now, it's not going to have much of an impact at all. It's pretty much mimicked the game cube, Shot off like a rocket, but quickly fizzled out. How do you know how owners of both consoles will choose to use them? You don't. You do realize the vita has a rear touch pad, and all those missing inputs work out wonderfully when mapped to the rear touch pad, not to mention the touch screen. So that's really a mute point. And the sticks, that's just your opinion. I don't having an issue with them, while i wish they were bigger, they are the best on a mobile gaming platform so far.
