If you think about it, that's one of the ''nicest'' things that could happen to earth, and it doesn't make me proud at all...

How is it one of the nicest things that could happen to earth ? How does the planet benefit from the extermination of the human race.

Many species we are pushing towards extinction would be saved, and the environment would benefit from no longer being our punching bag.

So animals have more rights to live than humans do ?  Why ? They will die sooner or later anyway mass extinctions happen regulary.

 

How would the environment benefit ? You mean plants ? They too are eradicated periodically. Also plants don't care they don't have the means to feel like humans and to a lesser extent animals.
