It's pretty obvious that Tomb Raider was influenced a LOT by Uncharted, just like Uncharted was once by Tomb Raider. But already there are people downplaying said influence. Didn't the devs even admit that they looked to Uncharted a lot?

Tomb Raider has elements of a few games in it, including Uncharted. But no, influenced "a LOT"? Not the Tomb Raider I played through.

Idk if the devs said that but I do remember them going out of their way to point out differences after E3 last year. Like this:

Which is pretty much exactly how I feel about the games. On the surface you can look at how they are both action-adventure games, feature treasure hunters, relics, 3rd person perspective and platforming. But that has been Tomb Raider's thing long before Uncharted ever came out. You look deeper and Tomb Raider has a dramatically different combat system, a much more open game world, a different character structure, and survival elements, among other core differences. I mean with the way you can upgrade weapons and abilities and return to previous areas with new abilities to unlock new areas and content, it's more like Batman or RE4 to me personally.

There's also the element of "cinematic gameplay" or whatever you want to call it that Uncharted and Tomb Raider to a lesser extent both have but Uncharted didn't invent that either. God of War, Half Life, Gears of War, I could go on and on with franchises that precede Uncharted and have elements of that gameplay.
