mid-end gaming PC now (months before its launch), low-end gaming PC in few years, platform flushed with horrible looking ports of PC games mostly with bad frame rate and or low resolution.

The PS4 buzz stinks with Vita type fiasco, platform hyped by many bought by few.

Steam Box if done properly can wipe the floor with PS4

Have fun playing uncharted, gow, killzone, infamous on that wonderful steam box of yours... It's not all about processing power

neither game on your list interested me in the slightest, it is actually funny to hear Playstation crowd screaming about irrelevancy of power in gaming with their mouth full of 8GB GDDR5

That's fine, I'm not quite sure what types of games you would be interested in then, but to each their own.  The amount of ram is quite exciting and not because of the increase in visual fidelity hat this upgrade would allow, but the gameplay possibilities and genres that open up as a result.  Maybe we can finally start seeing some proper mmorpgs being released on the ps4/nextbox that simply weren't possible this gen.  You sound so bitter, beer up mate.  Also, not every Sony fan has a hard on for graphical enhancements, I'm much more excited to experience new games in new ways.
