Most of the monsters aren't as hard as I remembered, and most of the new ones so far aren't too difficult. My first death (and only failed mission) was against Pink Rathian, since all of her added attacks seemed to be aimed at the blindspots I'd normally exploit.

Wait till you see the Gold Rathian :).  Haven't hunted one myself but I was impressed by the improved moves of Pink Rathian.  In MHFU she wasn't that different from normal Rathian.
