VGKing said: The lack of these big-name 3rd party titles is what killed the Wii.(Of course Nintendo had some part in this as well) Even though Wii U is getting some big games such as AC and Watch Dogs, its still missing some major franchises. The ones it did get didn't sell very well at launch so I think the future of 3rd party support for Wii U won't be much different than that of the Wii. |
Wii was the best selling console till 2010 without any of these big-name 3rd party titles. What killed it was the fact that after 2010, Nintendo stopped supporting it.

The lack of the biggest, most popular titles out there caught up with the Wii. People weren't going to continue purchasing a console that lacks a ton of good games. People keep saying Nintendo has lost the casual audience but looking at sales of Wii games last year, what sold the most last year? Just Dance 4. I say Nintendo lost and has been losing that "core" gamer for years.

The biggest, and most popular games lol? Do me a favor go look up the best selling games, and its all Nintendo and Call of Duty games. Your ill informed, and don't what your talking about.
|
Just look at the recent PS3/360 releases. Bioshock Infinite, Metal Gear Rising, Dead Space 3, DmC...etc..etc. Wii U still lacking major releases. Even the Wii got COD, although a gimped version. Nintendo software only sells in the tens of millions when the hardware is selling that way. Wii U isn't selling well and that will reflect in software sales. Dont' expect the Wii U versions of Mario Kart, Wii Fit U, Smash Bros...etc to match the Wii versions. Not by a long shot.

SSB4 might pass SSBB on 3DS O.o! Well Maybe, its a Handheld, we yet to see wat it can do in sales(japan should definitely do better
|
Isn't a big part of Smash Bros the local multiplayer? I don't see the 3DS version taking away many sales from the console version, but considering the install base it'll probably sell more. I don't see the new Smash Bros selling 10m+ on 3DS though LOL. That is a ridiculous prediction....
|
watttt? 2 things, 1. People want online, but are forced with local multiplayer. Look at Mario Kart for Ex. Played only locally for over a decade then MK wii came out! See? Now 2. im not saying it will but you have no guarantee it wont sell over 10mil. It could go anywhere between 4mil-12mil. Who knows? We never had a SSB on a handheld B4. Also there's a chance its not going to be some cross play title only. It can be an entire different game than the console version! It was stated that you'll be able to customize your characters or something on the lines of that. Just saying it can do 4mil lifetime, or maybe reach up to 10mil? Maybe more maybe less. No one is certain.

Saying it will do 10m is a a little far-fetched don't you think? Even 4m would be difficult to reach considering we don't know how much demand there is for a portable Smash Bros.
