yes, i got a ps3 after that, and then when they released the slim i bought that xbox and its been just fine since. Same thing when i bought a ps1 for like $400 back in the day and the laser would mess up and you would have to turn it all kinds of ways to make it work. I didnt get a ps2 for a good 2 years or so after release. i doubt M$ would make the same mistake but meh.. it will be fine, not to mention there will be a nice bargan bin by that time for the nextbox. :)

I remember my Wii's laser got screwed up after a year I got it, I was forced to play my ten year old N64 lol
