Really though, 2d mario and mario kart are the only 2 mario type games that sell more than cod, and we didn't see a ton of them last gen, just 1 per console.  With cod, you get the same 12-14 million people buying them every year, and this trend will continue until those 12-14 million people either get bored of the game, or some new big game hits.
