It's been said before but the Wii was a fad. It was riding that wave of popularity until that wave crashed onto the shore. Wii Sports alone sold 50% of the Wii's out there.

I'm not sure what we're talking about now. Anyway, it's not possible to say that the Wii was a fad or not, as this is a highly subjective matter.
