Regardless of whether Kinect2 will be "beter", there are only so many features you can add to an existing service until it becomes irritating, or people actually start to realise they don't really need most of the service...
What Sony certainly hasn't covered is Kinect. The whole point of the original Kinect was to buy each and every (willing and unwilling) software company doing R&D in that area. They certainly spent a 9digit figure to get all the knowledge they could find (MS never cared at all about PrimeSense technology. As soon as Kinect2 is out, MS will have forgotten Kinect ever existed). MS has at least a two year lead on Sony here and that _will_ show when NextBox "goes online".
