Hmm, an interesting review. I'd personally give the game an 8.9. Played it on PS3 but also have it on PC.

I didn't have much problems with the driving. Found it much better than GTA4 and on par with Saints Row the Third (pretty arcadey). The story is pretty good and the combat system is fine.

The negative points in your review seem to be down to you rather than the game.

I agree with you that it's better than GTA IV story wise. If you play the game and just follow the story you won't encounter too many problems. There's always a gun somewhere near by. You just have to look around. But it doesn't take away the fact that they don't last long in your possession. Or that most moves are blocked unless your face meter is full and you have a bunch of upgrades. And police minivans can keep up with any vehicle no matter the speed.

But, I also agree with you that the negative points are down to me. Not everyone will find those things irritating.

There's a lot to love about Sleeping Dogs. I just found a lot to be frustrated about also. I appreciate the feedback.

Yeah, I also found the lack of persistant weapon a bit annoying. But the combat, I'm going to have to disagree with you there. You have to use certain moves and combos for different enemies. The weak thugs have low defence and hardly every block, the bigger guys however will block more but are vunerable to heavy attacks and counters.

Those moves you speak of are only available through upgrades though. And the tougher thugs are the ones I speak of blocking everything. Unless of course, your face meter is filled. Heavy attacks made no difference. I unlocked everything and found that to be one of the most frustrating things. But I tell you what, I'll go on it today and try every single heavy attack available and see if it doesn't get blocked. I also still haven't played a nightmare in north point. After beating the story I lost all interest in playing the dlc.

You should also try following up some combos after countering enemies, as their defence will be down.

I've not played the dlc, so I'll be interested to see what you think of it (if you ever get around to playing it, that is) :)
