It's amazing seeing the amount of downplaying, in terms of the actual leap. Seems like a lot of it is coming from Nintendo fans. I suppose a conitinuation of the "the PS4 won't be that big of a leap over the Wii U." It is quite a leap over last gen. Just as equal as any leap, really. Of course, to truly compare you have to compare launch titles to launch titles.
