I have participated in pokemon world tournaments sponsored by Nintendo before. There would pretty much be pin drop silence while a match was going on bar the occasional "eh" and you could almost cut the atmosphere with a knife because it would be so heavy. After a game, we would just shake hands, say good game and walk off to the next match. There were a few people who would shout in joy at the end of a big game, especially if there was an audience but nothing like this. Mind you, the players in the senior division were all pretty much the same age as these guys as well, so its not kids.
Plus I follow the FGC tournaments as well and even though those guys are known to be quite harsh, they are very focused and timid when it comes to professional tournaments or at least from what I have seen.
Not saying its everyone, but I find many people like this playing COD in public games as well. Maybe there's just something about COD that ignites the inner rage but I play it without having to shouts swears. Who knows, maybe it's just the people since COD has the biggest userbase.
