Quite honestly cause they dont care about their costumers. We have been almost forced to get Xbox live gold, they stoped making new games or getting exclusives and all they do is rehash the same 4 IP's, moving to kinect and the average consumer in the process. On top of that they all but left the console to rot in the last 2 years. They only want to rack up as much money as they can without moving a finger. I dont really want that kind of company in the market. They add nothing positive to it. Just leeches after your every penny.

Wow, this point of view is absolutely not what my feeling about it is... I think it is sad that you have this opinion but it's not arguable, opinion is opinion. But I think there has to be competition - if Sony dominates the market I don't see why this could be good for gamers (my opinion). I am glad that not everyone has your opinion (though I feel many on this forum have). And really, also Sony leeches after your money. They all want our best: our (pocket ;)) money!

Nintendo also exists, its not just Sony. They are all companies and are after my money, but its the way they go around to do it that makes the difference.

Yes, there is Nintendo but they aren't really competition to MS or Sony. They have another target audience than Sony and MS for sure, way less 3rd-party-support... And sure it makes a difference to you, as everyone can read in your posts. It's ok the way it is, nothing to argue about. Others just have other opinions :)

Of course that a 2 way hardware market would be very different from the 3 way we have now. The technology leap would probably be smaller and the market wouldnt be so cutt-throat for developers and publishers because development costs wouldnt rise as dramatically as they have. That is perfectly fine though. I have my opinion and others have their own. I dont go about trying to harass them for it, like someone on this thread tried to do with me. :)
