Didn't you hear? Skype and a TV tuner are "killer apps" now!
My main problem with stuff in the XDK is the whole....Kinect is required to function thing. My guess (and there have been rumors) that K2.0 will be built into the system somehow so just covering it with a towel or whatever doesn't seem like the best idea. If it isn't built in, and doesn't HAVE to be used, i'll just tuck it away but still have it plugged in. Thing is, since everyone will have Kinect, developers might feel obligated to make use of it in some capacity. Much like we saw with the Wii and all of the horrible waggle games. Now it will be wiggle games.
Microsoft is going to have to bring some serious gaming heat at the reveal/E3 in order for me to get excited about the neXtBox. MS's clear strategy is really driving me away from the Xbox. I haven't turned my 360 on since early Feb...it bores me and the ads are obscene. My Wii U has gotten more action than my PS3 or 360 in the past month, and I hadn't gotten any new games for it until today. I was having trouble getting into Ni No Kuni, but I at least still played my PS3.
Sadly, MS is stupid enough to try some of the things mentioned in the thread...not saying they absolutely will.....but I wouldn't put it past them to try and spin it to sound like a good thing.
