I suggest the Toshiba Canvio portable hard drive. It works really well with the Wii U and matches the looks. It cost anywhere bet $48-$99 (320GB-1.5TB) depending on your memory needs. This thing is beautiful as it is roughly the size of the Droid 3 cellphone. Here's a pic for those who are curious:
